Peter Fletcher | Managing Director of Parly Company SA, Geneva, Switzerland

Mr. Peter H. Fletcher is the Managing Director of Parly Company SA, Geneva, Switzerland, a family office which invests internationally in private/direct equity and alternative investment strategies. Mr. Fletcher has over 30 years of international experience covering a broad spectrum of financial management functions in the trust and banking industry in Canada, Australia, Bermuda, Hong Kong and Switzerland. In addition to holding numerous directorships of investment funds and companies, Mr. Fletcher has served on various governments financial regulatory bodies. He holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.

Peter Douglas | Asia-based director of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association

Peter Douglas CAIA is the Asia-based director of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, and the principal of GFIA, Asia’s longest-established hedge fund consulting firm, and a substantial wealth manager. He established the Singapore chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and was the inaugural AIMA Council Member for the Asia Pacific region. He has an honours degree from the University of Exeter, is a pioneer-cohort Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Ho Han Ming | Partner and Head, Singapore Funds Practice, Clifford Chance

Han Ming specialises in fund matters and has extensive knowledge of the business aspects and operations of a fund manager. He has worked with major foreign and local fund management companies on the establishment of these companies in Singapore, as well as the establishment, structuring and registration of their funds (both local and offshore) in Singapore. He also advises on regulatory compliance and licensing issues relating to Singapore securities and financial advisory law. He liaises regularly with the Singapore regulators for various matters including issues relating to regulatory compliance, licence and product applications for his clients. Han Ming is chairman of the Singapore Chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and sits on the regulatory committee of IMAS. He is recommended as a leading individual for investment funds work in Singapore for three consecutive years in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions of the leading legal directory, Chambers Asia. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Paul Smith  (International chief) | CEO of Asia Alternative Asset Partners Limited

Paul Smith is CEO of Asia Alternative Asset Partners Limited (Triple A Partners), a full service asset management businesses in Asia. Triple A Partners provides the following services; discretionary investment management, seed capital, fund structuring advice and fund distribution globally. Triple A Partners has offices in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, London and Los Angeles. From 1996 to 2006 (when he left to form Triple A Partners) Paul was global head of HSBC PLC Alternative Fund Administration (previously the Bank of Bermuda Ltd) where he was responsible for over 1,000 staff in 14 locations and for the administration of over US$250 billion of client assets. From 1984 to 1995, he was managing director for the Ermitage Group, a UK based alternative asset manager. Paul is a past member of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission committees on Unit Trusts and Real Estate Funds and serves on the Hong Kong council of the Alternative Investment Management Association. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the UK Institute of Directors and holds a degree from Oxford University, England. He is a director of numerous Asian based hedge funds.

Rebekah Pang  (Singapore chief) | Associate Director at Newedge Singapore

Rebekah Pang is an Associate Director at Newedge Singapore, where she is involved in origination and structuring and capital introductions for the Prime Brokerage Division. Prior to this, she worked as an analyst at KBC Alpha Asset Management – an Asian focused fund of hedge funds, researching funds based within the region. Before moving to Singapore, Rebekah worked at JPMorgan in Sydney in sales and marketing and also as a portfolio analyst. Rebekah has postgraduate qualifications in finance and holds both CFA and CAIA designations.

Anne-Marie Godfrey  (Hong Kong chief) | Partner at Bingham McCutchen LLP

Anne-Marie Godfrey is an investment funds partner at Bingham McCutchen LLP in Hong Kong.

Anne-Marie has advised Hong Kong, Japanese and Singaporean institutional and boutique investment managers on the establishment of hedge funds, private equity and retail mutual funds. She acts as transaction counsel for Asian clients in the establishment of Irish UCITS funds, Irish professional investor funds, and qualifying investor funds and has advised on the listing of investment funds on the Irish stock exchange. She also advises on European regulatory issues and the listing of ETFs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and has obtained SFC authorisation for European UCITS funds for distribution to the retail public in Hong Kong.

Her prior experience includes heading up the legal team at Fortis Prime Fund Solutions in Dublin, Ireland. She has also worked at Decons and Maples and Calder in their Hong Kong offices.

Debra Ng | Partner and Shareholder of Albourne Partners

Debra Ng is a Partner and Shareholder of Albourne Partners. She joined Albourne as a Portfolio Analyst in 2006 and is Managing Director of Albourne Partners (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Prior to this, Ms. Ng was Regional Business Director at an asian FoHF, LFC Management Ltd (Singapore), for two years from 2004 to 2006. Debra spent four years at Citigroup Asset Management (Singapore) as Director, Institutional Advisory from 2000 to 2004. Before that she worked at Capital International (Singapore) as Assistant Vice-President with Portfolio Management support and institutional client relationship management responsibilities from 1994 to 2000. Debra started her career as an Investment Analyst covering the Technology, EMS, Autos and small conglomerate sectors at DBS Investment Research (Singapore) from 1991 to 1994. Ms. Ng graduated from the California State University, Los Angeles (USA) with a BSc. Business Administration in Finance with Economics in 1990. She attained the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2006.

Ash Patel has been with RICE since Nov 2011. As a Senior Advisor he is helping RICE in marketing and also assisting in the day to day management.

Prior to RICE, Ash was with Barclays Capital in both Europe and more recently Asia within the Prime Services Management team. He is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA, UK) and CPA (Australia).

Spencer Privett  (Legal Advisor – international)

Spencer Privett is a partner and head of the investment funds group at Maples and Calder in Hong Kong. Spencer’s practice covers a wide range of investment funds business, including formation of both open and closed ended funds and hedge and private equity funds and advice to fund service providers. He is also experienced in regulatory, finance and general corporate matters. Spencer joined Maples and Calder in 2001 and was made partner in 2003. He previously worked for Simmons & Simmons in London, Linklaters in London and Hong Kong as well as for Credit Suisse in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Spencer is a graduate of the University of Birmingham and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, Hong Kong and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands).

Arnold Tan  (Legal Advisor – Singapore)

Arnold joined Rajah & Tann LLP as a partner in 1999. His primary focus is in investment funds and related regulations. He leads the Fund Management & Regulatory Practice that provides advice on fund management and investment advisory services and generally on the establishment of both onshore and offshore investment funds (venture capital, private equity and equity funds). His team represents both institutional fund managers licensed under the Securities & Futures Act of Singapore, as well as “boutique” fund managers.

He also advises institutional investors investing into funds, particularly private equity funds. Other clients in related industries include private client and wealth management units of banks, and other financial institutions such as fund administrators, investment fund distributors, trustees, custodians, and financial planners and advisers. He was named in Practical Law Company’s Which Lawyer, Chambers Asia and Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Investment Funds Lawyers as a leading lawyer in Singapore for investment funds.

Laetitia Mergui  (Legal Advisor – Hong Kong)

Laetitia Mergui is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales and an associate of Gide Loyrette Nouel Hong Kong. She advises corporations, private equity, venture capital and hedge fund clients on all legal aspects of their investments, the formation and management of funds and investment vehicles in Hong Kong or abroad. Prior to joining Gide Hong Kong, Laetitia worked at SJ Berwin in London and Clifford Chance in Paris and London. Laetitia is a graduate of HEC Business school and holds a masters of international private law from University of Paris II – Pantheon Assas. She is fluent in English and French. In her spare time, Laetitia loves to cook and play with her daughter.

Trevor Xie  (Allocation advisor)

Trevor is the founder and executive director of Student Advisory Centre, a charity that works with children’s and youths in Singapore. An avid sportsman, he participates frequently in running and swimming events. His interest in social service is particularly focused on transparency of fund usage, sustainability, and governance. Trevor resides in Singapore with his wife and two boys.

Francesco Caruso  (Allocation advisor)

Francesco Caruso, Director of the ADMCF Children at Risk program, since 2007. An Italian national, before joining ADM Capital Foundation Francesco lived for five years in Cambodia where he co-founded M’Lop Tapang, a project for street children that currently employs 160 Khmer staff and reaches over 3,000 children with a budget this year of US$1,000,000. Since 2004, Francesco additionally has advised several American and European private and public foundations facilitating and monitoring charitable investment of over US$10,000,000 in Asian countries. Previous to his work with non-profit institutions, Francesco worked for six years in banking in North America and Europe. He holds an LLM degree (International and EU law) and a Masters Degree in Development.

Damien Ryan  (Media advisor)

Damien Ryan is founder and director of Ryan Financial Communications, which is a Hong Kong-based specialist in public relations, media training and crisis management for companies across Asia-Pacific. Ryan Financial Communications works with a range of money managers, investment banks, brokers and financial service providers. This includes managing public reputations through arranging selective interviews, drafting press releases and providing strategic counsel. The company was established in 2007 after Damien’s career as a financial journalist. This included 8 years as a reporter and anchor with Bloomberg Television in Hong Kong and London. Damien has also worked for business network CNBC and various leading newspapers. He began his reporting career in Australia. The company’s staff area mix of public relations professionals and former journalists.

Lauren Goble (Media Advisor)

A communications specialist, Lauren brings global experience and know-how to Ryan Financial Communications in her role as Account Director. She has held a number of Public Relations positions in Hong Kong, the U.S. and Australia. Lauren has deep experience in developing and executing PR strategies for Financial Services and Luxury Goods companies and currently manages client campaigns that span multiple geographic borders and languages. She holds a Bachelor of Media and Communications and a Master of International Business.

Tessa Boudrie

Tessa Boudrie, a Dutch national based in Hong Kong, is a qualified social worker. She has 17 years experience, of which the last 10 years has been in South East Asia and Hong Kong, specializing in the needs of street children and sex workers. For the last 2 years she has combined her social work in the field, with assisting families and foundations in their philanthropic activities. She has worked for UNICEF, OXFAM, and Friends International, as well as many others, and was most recently employed by the RICE Fund. She has extensive experience in working with sophisticated private donors.

Through her own company (Boudrie Advisory) Tessa focuses on applying good and sustainable investment principles to philanthropy. She sources, conducts due diligence on, mentors, and monitors, third sector projects throughout South East Asia, and advises donors on their philanthropic strategy and execution.
