The RICE fund started to support Friends International in 2007 for their center in Phnom Penh. This (Mith Samlanh) Center is situated in the heart of Phnom Penh. It has access to 1800 street children everyday. It is the base for all their outreach programs and services, reaching to 20,000 children living and working in the streets of Phnom Penh. It provides a complete range of essential support services including: hygiene, health care, vocational training, primary education, counseling, food, emotional support and cultural activities.

Unfortunately, in 2006 the center faced eviction. After much careful consideration and assessment of all their options, Mith Samlanh was forced to try and purchase the land in order to keep the center and continue its work. Luckily, they were able to obtain a mortgage loan. The RICE fund decided to donate a partial amount  for the land. Up till now, they have met all repayment deadlines.
